Autun. This city boasts several elements of Roman architecture such as walls, gates, a Roman theatre and Cathedrals. Good shopping and a weekly market on Friday.
Nevers. The tomb of St. Bernadette and of course the Formula 1 racing track at Magny Cours.
There are many more beautiful villages in the region - Flavigny sur Ozerain (the village used for the setting in the film 'Chocolat'.
Noyers sur Serin with half timber houses, tiny lanes and small squares made of Chalky and granite pavements is officially one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Semur en Auxois is one of the most picturesque towns in Burgundy. Its medieval centre remains mostly intact with the River Armancon encircling half the Town.
Avallon. This fortified town lies between two ravines, from the Ramparts you can look across the rooftops to the picturesque Valley of the River Cousin.
Plus many more beautiful and famous Chateaux set in parkland for you to visit.
Many of the sites in the towns are open to visitors year round.

The wines of Burgundy are a never-ending story. They offer complexity and charm that no other wines in the world compete with. Take a drive on the Grand Cru route and see and taste for yourself.

Here in Burgundy you are spoilt for choice. In the 2008 edition the Mitchelin Guide awarded stars to twenty-eight restaurants in Burgundy.
In our local Town of Saulieu we have the world famous Le Relais Bernard Loiseau Restaurant, plus La Vieille Auberge which serves very good food at affordable prices. These are only two of several high quality restaurants in town.
